In the period from October 27 to 28, the international conference "Balkans after 1204" was organized in Sofia, in cooperation with the Institute of History BAN and the Department of Byzantine History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. On the Serbian side, the conference was attended by prof. Dr. Jelena Erdeljan, prof. Dr. Vlada Stanković, Assoc. Dr. Dragoljub Marjanović and Assoc. Dr. Dejan Gašic. On October 28 the official opening of the conference was also attended by Ambassador Ž. Jović.

In addition to the opportunity for the professional as well as the general lay public to become familiar with the specific details of the mentioned period of Balkan history, this was an opportunity to further strengthen the ties between the prestigious Serbian and Bulgarian scientific institutions, and in this way to contribute to the strengthening of the overall ties between two states and two peoples.
