Ambassador Jović met with the Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Nikola Stojanov. During the meeting, they discussed modalities for further increasing of economic cooperation, which was assessed as excellent and constantly rising. Namely, in 2021, the total exchange of goods between Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria exceeded 1.5 billion euros.

Ambassador Jović and Minister Stojanov noted that the development of infrastructure, primarily in the field of transport and energy, opens up additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the economic sphere and increasing benefits for both countries.

Special attention in the conversation was devoted to the possibility of joint engagement within the Pirot Free Zone, which since a few years ago includes both the towns of Babušnica and Dimitrovgrad, where a large part of the population consists of the Bulgarian national minority.
