On November 18, 2022 in the organization of the Faculty of Philology, University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Veliko Trnovo, an international scientific conference "Friendship in the culture of Bulgarians and Serbs" was held, which marked the beginning of the 25th year of the presence of the Serbian language at this University.

The conference was opened by the rector of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius", PhD Mr. Hristo Bonžolov and Ambassador Željko Jović. The mentioned event is a continuation of a series of scientific forums organized since 2004. by the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Niš and the Faculty of Philology in Veliko Trnovo. The beginning of cooperation between the two universities dates back to 1988, when the cooperation between the philologists of the two faculties began. In this regard, a large group of students and professors from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Niš participated in the event this year as well.

Dean of the Faculty of Philology PhD Ms. Cenka Ivanova introduced the attendees to the anniversaries related to the partnership of two universities and two faculties, to the history of Serbian studies at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, as well as to the achieved cooperation between professors of the Bulgarian language, literature and culture at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Nis.

During this scientific meeting, the two last titles from the series of thematic bilingual collections were presented, "Customs in the Culture of Serbs and Bulgarians", edition for 2019 of the University of Niš and "Path in the Culture of Bulgarians and Serbs", edition for 2022 of the University of Veliko Tarnovo.
