Traditional celebration of the „Шопски празник“, which was held at the city stadium of Elin Pelin, a Municipality that is twinned with the Municipality of Leskovac, was attended by Ambassador Željko Jović.

On that occasion, Ambassador Jović addressed the present citizens of this small but highly developed industrial zone (the third largest in the Republic of Bulgaria), as well as other present guests, thanking the Mayor Ivaylo Simeonov and the municipal administration for their work during the implementation of joint cross-border and other projects with Serbian Municipalities, and on activities that bring together two fraternal peoples and two friendly states. In that sense, the Ambassador emphasized his readiness to continue to personally, along with the entire staff of the Serbian Embassy in Sofia, contribute to strengthening relations in all areas of mutual, already fruitful cooperation.

A delegation of professors and students of the Higher School of Tourism from Leskovac also attended the weeklong celebration, and presented their culinary skills and specialties, for which Leskovac is very famous in Bulgaria and the entire region.
