Today, Ambassador Jović met with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Alexander Nikolov. During the meeting, mutual willingness was reiterated not only for further cooperation, but also for its maximum deepening and enhancement.

It was assessed that mutual engagement and intensification of cooperation are especially important today, at a time when the question of energy security is one of the key issues for the survival and development of any modern state.

In addition to the already functioning Balkan Stream, which today provides both countries with much needed gas, but also makes a profit from transit fees, the growing importance of the soon to be completed Serbia-Bulgaria and Bulgaria-Greece interconnectors will provide an energy diversification in the region, by connection to the Azerbaijan sources, but also with Greek LNG processing plants.
