Ambassador Jović and Honorary Consul in the Republic of Bulgaria, Anastasia Solakov, visited the Municipality of Chepelare, where they met with the Mayor, Boran Hadjiev, a great Bulgarian athlete and coach who has trained several European and world champions in skiing and biathlon. Although small in population (6,000 people), this municipality has a strong industry, led by a factory of world-famous ski equipment brand, Salomon and Atomic.

In that sense, B. Hadziev pointed out that they are open to all types of possible economic cooperation with Serbia. Also, bearing in mind that part of this municipality is the famous ski center Pamporovo (which is divided between the Municipality of Čepelare and the Municipality of Smolyan), and that in the winter season there are always a large number of Serbian tourists, they discussed the possibility of developing some service, in order to provide our tourists with an even higher quality of stay, but also to attract an even larger number of our citizens, who are supporters of skiing and mountain sports. B. Hadziev expressed the readiness that the Municipality of Chepelare be twinned with a similar Municipality from Serbia, and accepted the ambassador's initiative to dedicate one day only to the Republic of Serbia at one of the upcoming municipal festivals, when Serbia would present its culture, tradition, kitchen and other content.
