On November 12, 2021, after more than two weeks of various manifestations and ceremonies, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Sofia and the Sofia Metropolitanate, which marked the 700th years since the death of Stefan Uroš II Milutin (St. King Milutin), this great jubilee was completed at the Embassy with the celebration of the St. King Milutin Slava.
In the presence of a large number of Serbs who work and live in the Republic of Bulgaria, guests from the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the Slava`s cake was cut and in a suitable way (in accordance with the current epidemiological situation), the Slava was celebrated.
On that occasion, Ambassador Ž. Jović welcomed the guests, once again pointing out the importance that the great Serbian ruler still has in the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Bulgaria. He also mentioned that he hopes that the beginning of the celebration of this great day in this way, in the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, will contribute to the education of new Serbian generations to come, but also help strengthen ties with the fraternal Orthodox people, and thus contribute to development of overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Bulgaria.
