President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic received letters of credence today from the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Republic of Bulgaria Petko Doykov.

Welcoming the Ambassador, President Vucic emphasized Serbia's commitment to strengthening all-round relations with Bulgaria, in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
Ambassador Doykov conveyed to President Vucic greetings extended to him by President Radev and Prime Minister Borissov. Returning the greetings, President Vucic said that the relations between the two countries had been raised to a significantly higher level through joint efforts. The interlocutors noted that Bulgaria was one of the most important partners of Serbia in terms of the volume of trade in goods, and also pointed out that there were opportunities for enhancing cooperation in the field of investments, joint production capacities and programs, as well as joint participation on third markets.

They also stated that the completion of the motorway from Sofia to the border between the two countries, as well as other infrastructure projects, would be of utmost importance for Serbia and Bulgaria.

President Vucic thanked for the support that Bulgaria provided to the process of European integration of Serbia.

President Vucic also emphasized the significance of cooperation in the format of the Quadrilateral, i.e. the High-Level Cooperation Council of Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, as he considered it to be very important for the development of good neighborly-relations and promotion of the policy of peace and stability in the region, as well as for social and economic development.
