Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic talked today on the phone with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Ekaterina Zaharieva.

The two collocutors noted that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Bulgaria were very good, and that the high and top-level political dialogue was highly intensive and substantive, emphasizing that the cooperation between the two states maintained during the Covid-19 was a good example that should be followed up on once the epidemic was over.

Minister Selakovic expressed gratitude for the continued support Bulgaria extended to Serbia's European integration process and underlined interest on the part of Serbia for further cooperation in the course of which Bulgaria would share its experiences gained in the EU accession process, as well as the need for direct contacts between the Ministers of the two Governments responsible for issues relevant to European integration.

The Bulgarian and Serbian Foreign Ministers agreed to maintain communication more frequently in the future, and exchange views and positions on issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the conversation, Minister Selakovic thanked for the invitation to pay a visit to Sofia, and Minister Zaharieva voiced hope that she will have an opportunity to be his host immediately after the holiday season, in January 2021.
