On February 19, 2020, Bulgarians marked 147 Years since the Death of National hero Vasil Levskii, a Bulgarian revolutionary, also known as the "Apostle of Freedom," who created the strategy for the movement to liberate Bulgaria from the Ottoman rule. Traditionally, all major cities in Bulgaria pay homage to the national hero by laying wreaths at the monuments. In Sofia, the ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic and military corps, representatives of Bulgarian institutions and Bulgarian citizens. Ambassador Zeljko Jovic attended the ceremony and laid a wreath.
