On October 29, 2019, a holy liturgy and a ceremonial act of changing the laying of the relics of St. King Milutin took place at the Sofia Church St. Nedelya Church. This very important event for Serbian history, state and culture was attended by a large number of Serbs and priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church, mostly from the Diocese of the town Nis. The liturgy was also attended by Serbian Ambassador to Bulgaria Mr. Željko Jović and officials from the Embassy, a large number of Serbs living and working in Bulgaria, as well as Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zdravko Begović. During the liturgy, the historical importance of King Milutin was emphasized by the priesthood of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in regards for the strengthening and development of the Serbian state during his 42-year reign, as well as his role in connecting the two churches and states of today.
